Kishtwar 15-08-2023: The 77th Independence Day 2023 was today celebrated across the District kishtwar with great enthusiasm, fervor and national spirit, with DDC Vice-Chairperson, Kishtwar Mrs Saima Parveen Lone leads the Independence Day Celebration with 12000 residents participating with national flag hoisting at prestigious Chowgan Ground Kishtwar
At Block level the National flag was unfurled by the concerned BDC Chairpersons besides flags were unfurled at District Court Complex, Police Line, Sub Divisional headquarters, Tehsil and Block headquarters, in all the Govt offices,colleges and Educational institutions.
Here,at district headquarters the main function which was held at historical Chowgan Ground , the Vice-Chairperson, District Development Council Kishtwar Mrs. Saima Parveen Lone was the Chief guest on the occasion who hoisted the tricolor, inspected the parade accompanied by SSP Kishtwar Khalil Ahmed Poswal-JKPS and took salute of March Past contingents drawn from Police, IRP, CRPF, CISF, Forest Protection Force,Home gaurd, SPO Group, NCC battalion of GDC Kishtwar,Anganwari Workers
and School children.The parade was commanded by Dy.SP Vishal Sharma.

Independence Day Address by DDC Vice Chairperson Saima Parveen Lone recognized the District Achievements.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Saima Parveen Lone, the Chief Guest, extended heartfelt felicitations on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day celebration in Kishtwar. She emphasized the paramount role played by freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to secure freedom from colonial rule, acknowledging their unwavering dedication to India's integrity.
Drawing attention to the essential contribution of women in the freedom movement and national service, she highlighted India's stature as the world's largest democracy.
She proudly emphasized India's developmental strides in various sectors, citing achievements in space research, satellite technology, banking, information technology, healthcare, education, and sports, with notable examples such as Chandrayaan.
Enthusiastically, Vice Chairperson Saima Parveen underlined the significant developmental achievements within the district Kishtwar.
She emphasized the completion of works worth 108.32 crore rupees under PMDP for the fiscal year 2023. Ongoing projects, including CHC Marwah, Multipurpose Stadium Kishtwar, SC Hostel GDC Kishtwar, and Allopathic Dispensary Inderwal, are expected to be completed by September 2023.
Further, she detailed progress under the District Capex 2023-24, with 286 works already completed and others underway, committed to their timely completion. Vice Chairperson Saima Parveen highlighted the execution of 134 projects in JJM, including 15 projects under the District Capex Budget and 3 under the State Sector. Among these, 89 projects are actively progressing, with a substantial fund allocation of 360 crore rupees.
In the domain of road connectivity, 80% of the targeted 1029 Kms have been macadamized this fiscal year. Additionally, the Ayush Man Bharat scheme has seen impressive registration.
Innovative collaborations of District Administration Kishtwar with platforms like Akash technologies and BYJUs for NEET coaching were also acknowledged wherein underprivileged students have benefited from NEET coaching initiatives by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar.
Besides the Education achievements were lauded, with 1366 students re-enrolled in mainstream education through Project Talaash, earning the district a nomination for the National Level SKOCH awards.
The speech also applauded accomplishments in various schemes and sectors, such as MGNREGA, PMAY (G), Back to Village, Swach Bharat Mission Grameen, PM AWAS (Urban), and Social Welfare programs. Notable success stories included job opportunities, youth and women empowerment, and the district's strides in agriculture and allied sectors.
Vice Chairperson Saima Parveen expressed her appreciation for the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar's initiatives to boost tourism, including successful festivals and sports events, promoting adventure tourism in the district. She celebrated local athletes' achievements on the national and international stage, showcasing Kishtwar's prowess in sports.
In her concluding remarks, DDC Vice Chairperson Saima Parveen called upon the citizens of Kishtwar to uphold the nation's values of unity, peace, and development, and to proudly commemorate Independence Day by embodying the spirit of the occasion.
On the occasion, scintillating Cultural items were also presented by the students of various govt and private schools with patriotic Spirit.
Besides, the District Administration gave away mementos and certificates of commendation to several officers for exhibiting exemplary work, ethics and professionalism besides meritorious students were also conferred with awards and Laptops and the personalities with achievements in sports and social work field, besides best performers in prade cultural performances were also felicitated on the occasion by chief guest in presence of DC & SSP Kishtwar besides other officers.
Pertinent to mention that the main attraction of this year programme was the Man map of India with tricolours by Al Hilal Education Institute under the supervision of Sports Teachers Javid Kripak and Patriotic performances by Sugam Sangeet Institute of Music Kishtwar.
The programme was Compered by Awani Sen, Zorawar Singh and Roopesh Sharma in a befitting manner.
All the officers shared the independence day greetings with the citizens and participants on the occasion.
