Demands liberation of Pak Occupied Kashmir.

Jammu October 26: J&K National Panthers Party celebrated Accession Day by paying floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh who took the decision to accede J&K to the Union of India. Vilakshan Singh, President of J&K National Panthers Party while speaking on the occasion said that it was because of Maharaja Hari Singh that J&K became part of India. Maharaja Hari Singh had signed the Instrument of Accession on October 26, 1947. The accession was accepted by Lord Mountbatten, the then Governor-General of India in the morning hours of October 27, 1947. Singh said that Accession Day is very important day in the history of J&K and the residents of J&K should celebrate day with great enthusiasm. He said that the first battalion of the Indian Army landed at the Srinagar Airport at about 8.30 A.M. It was the first Sikh Battalion of the Indian Army which dashed the Pakistani Army from across Baramulla District which was held for three days by the Dogra Army under the leadership of Brig. Rajinder Singh. Brig. Rajinder Singh was martyred by Pakistani raiders on October 26, 1947.

The Panthers Party observed 77th Accession Day at Jammu and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army who had reached Baramulla after the J&K Army had continued fighting despite losing hundreds of J&K Army soldiers. Maharaja Hari Singh had appointed Brig. Rajinder Singh to resist the Pak-invaders. Almost all the J&K Army sacrificed their lives but stopped Pak-raiders for nearly two days.

Vilakshan Singh said that a large portion of the erstwhile state of J&K is under illegal foreign occupation. He demanded that the central government should take steps for the liberation of Pakistan occupied and China occupied parts of J & K. He said that liberation of the illegally occupied parts of J&K would be the real tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh.

Others who were present on the occasion were Naresh Chib, Rajesh Gondhi, Ravinder Jamwal, Rakesh Gupta, Sanjeev Verma and others.
