JAMMU, DECEMBER 01: The Red Ribbon Club of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu in collaboration with Food Science and Home Science Department and under the convenorship of Dr. Shalini Sharma organised an awareness rally to commemorate the World AIDS Day 2023 on December 1st 2023.
World AIDS Day serves as a poignant reminder of the global effort to combat HIV/AIDS, promote awareness, and stand in solidarity with those affected. In line with this spirit, a total of 64 Students and 08 faculty members participated in a spirited rally. The rally passed through the by lanes of Green Belt area and culminated back in the college premises in which students shouted slogans and participated enthusiastically. At the event, students actively participated by illuminating candles, symbolizing their engagement and support for the cause.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Neelima Gupta, Prof. Abhinav Sharma, Prof. Harmeet Singh and Prof. Sunita, members of Red Ribbon Club. Dr. Anuradha Gandotra and Prof. Monika Hans also joined the event.
Principal of the College Prof. Minu Mahajan, congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts of organizing team of Red Ribbon Club of the college. She shared her insights and experiences, providing valuable perspectives on the efforts to combat the said issue. Overall, the event organized with the aims to contribute to the global effort to eliminate stigma, promote testing and support those living with HIV.
