New Delhi, December 13, 2023: In a major security breach, two individuals jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the visitors' gallery on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, during the ongoing Winter Session.

The intruders, who were later identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan, were carrying smoke canisters which they released inside the House, causing chaos and panic. The incident unfolded during the Zero Hour session, leading to the immediate adjournment of the proceedings.

Visuals from the CCTV cameras inside the Parliament showed Sharma, dressed in a dark blue shirt, jumping over desks and running through the chamber. The other intruder, Manoranjan, was seen spraying smoke from the visitors' gallery.

Meanwhile, two other individuals, identified as Neelam and Amol Shinde, were detained outside Parliament for protesting with colored smoke canisters. Delhi Police sources believe that both incidents are likely connected.

The security breach has raised serious concerns about the security of the Parliament building and the vulnerability of the nation's highest legislative body. The incident has sparked widespread criticism and demands for a thorough investigation.

The opposition parties have heavily criticized the government for the security lapse and demanded accountability. The Congress party leader, Rahul Gandhi, called the incident a "major security failure" and questioned the effectiveness of the security measures in place.

"This is a very serious lapse in security. How did these people manage to enter the Parliament with smoke canisters? The government needs to explain and take responsibility," said Gandhi.

Following the incident, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced the suspension of visitor passes and called an all-party meeting to discuss the security breach.

"The incident is a serious matter and we will take all necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not happen again," said Birla.

The Delhi Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. They are also looking into the possibility of any links between the intruders and any extremist groups.

The incident has once again highlighted the need for robust security measures at Parliament and other sensitive government buildings. It remains to be seen what steps the government will take to address the security concerns raised by this incident.
