REASI, DECEMBER 23: Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Prashant Goyal, participated in the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide campaign aimed at spreading awareness and ensuring saturation of various flagship government schemes, held at the Auditorium of DC office Complex today.
A vibrant display of local culture, with drum beats by talented local artists adding a rhythmic touch to the proceedings was showcased.
The Principal Secretary inaugurated IEC van delivering recorded message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the huge gathering present on the spot.
On the occasion, individuals, communities and students came together to take a collective pledge for a Viksit Bharat, symbolizing a commitment towards development and progress of our nation.
Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra witnessed a spectacular display of cultural diversity by Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi and Nakkud Natak by Sangam Theatre Group.
The Principal Secretary along with District Development Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, inspected stalls established by various government departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Health, Animal Husbandry, Handloom, and Handicraft showcasing their respective schemes.
The officers and officials from multiple departments engaged with general public, shedding light on vital schemes including Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), and Poshan Abhiyan.
Prashant Goyal emphasized the importance of community participation in success of these initiatives. “The active involvement of citizens is crucial for effective implementation of government schemes. The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra provides a unique opportunity for people to connect with the authorities and contribute to the development process.
The ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubaani’ segment was particularly impactful, featuring firsthand accounts from beneficiaries sharing their success stories. These narratives highlighted the tangible benefits and positive changes brought about by the government’s welfare programs.
While addressing the gathering, Principal Secretary expressed gratitude for the participants’ efforts and commended the district administration for successfully conducting the program. He highlighted the VBSY’s role in creating awareness, bridging gaps for inclusive development, and fostering engagement with government schemes.
Prashant Goyal emphasised that these schemes, Social Welfare and employment initiatives are designed for the benefit every citizen. He highlighted that inclusive growth hinges on the active participation and collaboration of every individual.
He also distributed cheques under PMEGP and Pension Sanction Letters among the beneficiaries.
Later, Principal Secretary Prashant Goyal inaugurated the Common Facilitation Center of Industries and Commerce Department marking a significant stride in advancing industrial infrastructure and fostering economic growth in the region.
DDC Chairman, Saraf Singh Nag, while addressing the gathering, expressed hope that the VBSY shall benefit the last man in the row in the farthest village of district Reasi.
ADDC Jyoti Slathia, ADC Abdul Star, CEO, Chief Agriculture Officer, Block Development Council Chairpersons, District Development Council members, PRI representatives, students and a large section of people participated in the program.
