Director Information Sh. Jatin Kishore (IAS) to Lead Transformation of J&K Information, Engaging Citizens through New Media Platforms
Jammu, Jan 10, 2024: Sh. Jatin Kishore (IAS) officially assumed charge as the Director of Information, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) today, marking a new chapter for the department entrusted with bridging the communication gap between the government and its citizens.
In his first address to the department’s officers, Sh. Kishore laid out a clear vision for Information & PR in the modern era. He emphasized the need to harness the power of “modern and new media platforms” to maximize outreach and ensure timely dissemination of accurate information to the public. Building strong communication channels and fostering transparency were key priorities, he said, aiming to strengthen the bond between the government and the people of J&K.
The Director, known for his dynamic approach, stressed on the importance of core competencies and adapting to the ever-evolving media landscape. He encouraged his team to embrace new technologies and platforms, ensuring that the department remains at the forefront of information dissemination.
Following the meeting, Sh. Kishore took a tour of the office complex, interacting directly with employees and getting a firsthand understanding of the department’s operations. His enthusiasm and focus on collaboration set the tone for a period of transformation within the DIPR.

Meanwhile, a warm farewell was held for the outgoing Director, Sh. Minga Sherpa. Officers and officials expressed their gratitude for his leadership and wished him success in his new role as Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla.
With Sh. Jatin Kishore at the helm, the J&K DIPR is poised for a dynamic shift, embracing the digital age and aiming to serve as a critical bridge between the government and its citizens.
