RAMBAN, JANUARY 19: As part of the National Road Safety Month being observed from January 15 to February 14, the Motor Vehicles Department, in collaboration with Traffic police, organized a one-day awareness camp here on the National highway Ramban.
Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic Rohit Baskotra, ARTO Samrinder Singh and other officials besides passengers and drivers attended the awareness programme.
Addressing the participants, the SSP emphasized the crucial need to educate people about following traffic rules for the safety of all road users. He highlighted that over-speeding and negligent driving are major causes of road accidents, emphasizing the importance of mass awareness among road users.
He expressed confidence that such programs would significantly contribute to generating awareness among the general public, minimizing road accidents, and promoting healthy and safe driving habits.
While speaking on the occasion ARTO Samrinder Singh urged the general public to actively participate in spreading the message of road safety in society.
He added that during the month-long observance, various activities are planned throughout the district to create awareness among the general public and provide opportunities for all stakeholders to contribute to the cause of road safety.
