He is considered one of those rare singing gems whose voice stood the test of time and is still loved by people of all ages. According to Guinness World Records, she lent her voice to over 30,000 songs in different languages between 1948 and 1987. He received several awards including India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna.
