Mumbai: While Siddharth Anand’s latest action film “Fighter” has ignited mixed reactions from audiences, fans of the Krrish franchise eagerly await updates on the much-anticipated “Krrish 4.” Hrithik Roshan, the film’s protagonist, has recently offered some insights into the project’s current status.
Initially slated for a 2024 release, “Krrish 4” appears to be on a slower track. In a recent interview, Hrithik Roshan acknowledged, “You’ll have to wait longer. It’s too early to speak about Krrish 4.” He emphasized the complexities involved, stating, “Work is on, but it’s a difficult film. We need to consider the business side, the economics, and ensure the depth and script are perfect. Things are falling into place, but there’s still a long way to go.”
The Krrish series boasts a successful track record, with “Koi Mil Gaya” (2003), “Krrish” (2006), and “Krrish 3” (2013) all achieving impressive box office results. Fans and industry insiders keenly await the next chapter in the superhero saga.
Reports suggest that Siddharth Anand, “Krrish 4” director, has also joined the project as a producer. The film is currently in the scripting phase. Additionally, actress Shraddha Kapoor’s recent social media post hinting at a desire for “magic like sunshine” sparked speculation about her potential involvement in “Krrish 4.”
Rakesh Roshan, the film’s director and Hrithik’s father, expressed caution in a previous interview, stating, “While we’re ready to move forward, the current box office scenario with films struggling to recoup costs compels us to wait. Not for a year, maybe longer.”
Hrithik Roshan’s recent release, “Fighter,” has garnered mixed reviews while performing decently at the box office. Entering its fifth day, the film is estimated to earn around 8 crores in India across all languages. Its domestic box office gross currently stands at 126.5 crores, exceeding its opening day collection of 22.5 crores.
While “Krrish 4” fans might need to exercise patience, Hrithik Roshan’s assurance of ongoing development alongside his latest film’s performance offers a glimmer of hope for the superhero franchise’s future.
