PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme 16th Installment Released: Jammu Farmers Join Live Event

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 28: Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Jammu, organized a live streaming programme regarding release of 16th Installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Er. Abdul Hamid Wani, Secretary J&K Advisory Board for Development of Kisans graced the occasion as guest of honour.

Members, J& K Advisory board for development of Kisans, Basant Saini, Balbir Kour and Kulbushan Khajuria, Special Secretary / State Nodal Officer PM– Kisan, T. K. Bhat, Joint Director of Agriculture( Extension), SanjayVerma, Joint Director Horticulture, Chaman Lal and other senior officers besides more than 200  farmers of Jammu division participated in the programme.

In line with the government’s continued commitment and resolve to empower grassroot-level farmers, an amount of more than Rs 21000 crore to over 9 crore beneficiary farmer families was transferred digitally by the Prime Minister , Sh. Narendra Modi in an evant at Yavatmal, Maharashtra

Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year is being provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. The fund is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Under this scheme, SammanRashi of over Rs 2.80 lakh crore has been transferred to farmer families, so far.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu said that the purpose of PM KISAN SammanNidhi scheme is to give respect to Annadata of the nation in the shape of financial assistance. He further informed that e-KYC has been mandatory for availing benefits under PM Kisan which can be done through PM Kisan portal or face recognition mobile app or bio metric based e-KYC through CSC.

Bharat Bhusan, DDC Chairman in his address appealed farmers to adopt farming as full time profession with technical support of Agriculture Department. He further informed that the government has launched various initiatives under HADP for entrepreneurship development in the Agriculture Sector & making farming profitable for youth.

It was Informed that about 8.20 lakh farmers of JK UT have been benefited today under the 16th installment.
