Anti-malpractice law a triumph for fairness in examinations: Dr Varinder Sharma
JAMMU, Feb 11: Lauding union government’s initiative in making a law to curb examination malpractices in the country, Co-convenor, Professional Cell Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Dr. Varinder Sharma said that lakhs of youth who studied hard for entrance examinations for various government posts felt cheated and demoralised when some unscrupulous elements used to leak papers, impersonate or encourage cheating to favour a few.
Now that a law to curb these malpractices stands passed by both houses of Parliament, youth across the length and breadth of Bharat will get a fair deal in examinations and will compete with each other without fear or favour. This will give youngsters a level playing field where equal opportunities followed by candidates’ examination scores will be deciding their future. Those involved in cheating and other malpractices, he said, will face stringent laws.
Dr Varinder Sharma said that in becoming an engineer or Doctor or clearing NEET, JEE or Union Public Services exams it takes a candidate’s real hard work who burns midnight oil to excel in these papers. Just a wrong by a select few spoils his entire hard work and demoralises others as well. A wrong precedent had taken place in the country but this law brought in by the BJP government will nail the wrong people and help candidates work hard and face examinations fairly.
The professional cell of BJP Co-convenor said this landmark legislation, aimed at curbing leaks and malpractices in recruitment examinations such as UPSC, SSC, as well as entrance tests like NEET, JEE, and CUET, marks a significant step towards ensuring transparency and fairness in our examination system. Dr. Sharma extends his heartfelt appreciation to Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh for spearheading this crucial initiative. He acknowledged Dr Jatinder Singh’s dedication to youth empowerment and nation-building, evident in the government’s unwavering commitment to providing equal opportunities and a level playing field for all aspirants.
Commenting on the importance of the Bill, Dr. Sharma highlights its role in tackling the scourge of examination malpractices, including leaks and impersonation. By covering a wide range of examinations conducted by prestigious bodies like the railways, banking sectors, and the National Testing Agency, this legislation sends a strong message against organized malpractice by the Mafia. He said that earlier unscrupulous elements were having a free run but this piece of legislation will nail them, foil their attempts and also discourage them from doing wrong.
He emphasized that the Bill will ensure more transparency, a time-bound selection process, and a level playing field for all aspirants. He underscored the government’s commitment to encouraging states to adopt the Bill, thereby strengthening the examination ecosystem across the country. Dr. Sharma emphasizes that the BJP government, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has consistently prioritised youth-centric policies and initiatives in Bharat which is seeing a new dawn.
