Civil society members urged to promote enrollment
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 10: A community mobilization programme of School Management committees (SMC’s) school management and development committees (SMDC’s) village Education Committee (VEC) and PRI members was today organized under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha by the Zonal Education Office, Marh here at Govt School Dhateryal, Zone Marh.
Community members were acquainted with the role and responsibilities of SMC/SMDC’s/ VEC’s and PRI Members in the development of Govt. Schools.
They were requested to come forward and revive the Education system for the future of children of their locality. They were also made aware about Govt schemes like MDM programme, Free textbooks, free uniform for classes 1st to 8th, scholarship schemes for SC/ST/OBC/ disabled students and national Means cum Merit scholarship (NMMS) for 8th class only.
The Community members were urged to promote the enrollment by encouraging the general public to send their children to Govt. Schools to get quality education by highly qualified teachers and to avail a string of facilities. Speakers from different school committees gave their valuable suggestions for the welfare of students and uplift the education system.
The vote of thanks was presented by Zonal Education Officer, Marh Kasturi Lal Kaith and others who spoke on the occasion were Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul Principal GDC Marh, Purshotam Dutt Sharma Principal of HSS Marh. Committee members and staff members of the Govt Schools.
