NEW DELHI: In a recent statement, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi voiced concerns regarding the health of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, citing his daily intake of 54 units of insulin to control his sugar levels. Atishi emphasized that such a high dosage indicates severe diabetes, underscoring the importance of dietary choices and exercise in managing the condition.

Atishi highlighted the significance of a balanced lifestyle for diabetic patients, pointing out that the court has granted Kejriwal permission to consume home-made food for health reasons. However, she accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of collaborating with its ancillary institution, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), to obstruct Kejriwal’s access to home-cooked meals.

According to Atishi, the BJP, through the ED, is attempting to compromise Kejriwal’s health by interfering with his dietary requirements. She dismissed ED’s claims presented in court, which alleged Kejriwal’s consumption of sweetened beverages and sweets, labeling them as unfounded accusations.

The statement from Atishi underscores the ongoing political tensions between the AAP-led Delhi government and the BJP. It also raises questions about the extent to which political adversaries may go to undermine each other, even at the expense of personal health concerns.

Efforts to obtain comments from the BJP and the ED regarding Atishi’s allegations were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

The health condition of public figures, especially those in leadership positions, remains a subject of public interest and scrutiny. As the political landscape in Delhi continues to evolve, the well-being of Chief Minister Kejriwal remains a topic of discussion and debate.
