NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Speaking to reporters upon his release, Kejriwal emphasized the historical resilience of India against dictatorship and called for unity in the face of current challenges.
“Our country has a rich history spanning over 4,000 years. Whenever attempts were made to impose dictatorship on our land, the people have risen up against it,” Kejriwal remarked. “Today, our nation finds itself grappling with a period of dictatorship, and I am committed to fighting against it. However, it will require the collective efforts of all 140 crore citizens to defeat this tyranny.”
Kejriwal outlined his schedule for the following day, expressing his intent to seek blessings from Lord Hanuman at the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place at 11 am. Following this, he plans to address a press conference at the party office at 1 pm. Additionally, he will participate in a roadshow in South Delhi in the evening.
Kejriwal’s remarks come amidst a charged political atmosphere, with tensions escalating over issues of governance and democracy. His release from Tihar Jail marks a pivotal moment in his ongoing struggle against what he perceives as encroachments on democratic principles.
