SRINAGAR: A delegation from the Anjuman Sharie Shian Jammu and Kashmir, headed by Sh Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas, convened with Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan today. Their primary agenda was to petition for the reinstatement of the Youm-e-Ashoora procession, a traditional event observed on the 10th day of Muharram, along its customary route. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the enhancement of facilities at Shia sacred sites, highlighting the concerns of the community to the Lt Governor.
Assurances were provided by the Lt Governor to take appropriate actions on the issues raised by the delegation, reflecting a commitment to address their grievances.
Furthermore, representatives from the Jammu and Kashmir Music Artists Federation in Srinagar also met with Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan, indicating a diverse range of interests engaging with the administration.
Additionally, a delegation representing the residents of Khimber village in Srinagar also had an audience with the Lt Governor at the Raj Bhawan.
Moreover, Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, was among those who called upon Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan today.
Sh Sheikh Inayat Ullah, CEO of Move Beyond, an incubated startup of NIT Srinagar, and Chief Consultant of the Global Youth Outreach and Employability Program, also had the opportunity to meet with the Lt Governor. During the meeting, he briefed the Lt Governor on the various youth outreach initiatives undertaken by his startup.
The series of engagements underscored the diverse array of concerns and interests being addressed by the Lieutenant Governor’s office, reflecting a proactive approach to governance and community engagement in Jammu and Kashmir.
