Vomedh and NZCC Partner for Cultural Showcase;
 Exploring Kashmiri Mysticism Through Theatre

Jammu, March 20, 2025: An unprecedented jam-packed house at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, was mesmerized today by Vomedh Rangmanch's presentation of "Lalleshwari," a Kashmiri play penned by Bal Kishan Sanyasi and brought to life under the direction and design of Rohit Bhat. Presented in partnership with the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) Chandigarh as a feature of their cultural Show, the production vividly depicted the remarkable journey of the 14th-century mystic poetess, Lal Ded. Suman Pandita's captivating performance as Shiv Yogini Lalleshwari resonated powerfully with the audience.

Lal Ded, also known as Lalleshwari (c. 1320–1392), occupies a position of reverence in the literary and spiritual heritage of Kashmir. A prominent figure in the Kashmir Shaivism tradition of Hindu philosophy, she is recognized for pioneering Vatsun or Vakhs, a distinct form of mystical poetry known as Lal Vakhs. Variously and affectionately known as Lal Dyed ("Grandmother"), Lalleshwari, Lalla Yogishwari/Yogeshwari, and Mother Lal/Lalla, her influence continues to inspire.

Rakesh Roshan Bhat, acclaimed playwright and mentor of Vomedh, expressed gratitude to the audience and NZCC for their support. He highlighted Vomedh's unwavering commitment to reviving the legacies of inspiring Kashmiri figures and hinted at further innovative and unique programs planned for the coming months.
