RAJOURI, MARCH 03: Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, today addressed a press conference regarding the recent suspension of an employee. He stated that the decision was taken following due procedure, based on multiple complaints against the individual dating back to 2021.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, who is also holding charge as Registrar of BGSBU, accompanied the Vice Chancellor during the press conference.

Prof. Iqbal emphasized that the suspension was not arbitrary but was necessitated by non-compliance with institutional norms. He assured that a fair inquiry is underway, and the concerned individual will be given an opportunity to present their case once the process is completed.

Clarifying the University’s administrative status, he stated that no teaching association currently exists, as their tenure has already ended. He also reassured that classwork is not suspended, and the university is functioning smoothly.

Furthermore, he urged employees to adhere to institutional rules instead of resorting to pressure tactics, stressing that the university’s progress remains the priority. “We are not against teachers; we want the university to progress, but compliance with norms is essential,” he said.

Prof. Iqbal also announced that the admission process for the new academic session will commence soon, urging all stakeholders to focus on admissions and the smooth conduct of examinations to ensure that students do not suffer.
