Blood donation camp held at Govt College of Education Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JULY 11:  A blood donation camp was organized today by Department of Health Care Centre (IASE) of Government College of Education (IASE), M. A. Road, Srinagar in collaboration with Government Lal Ded Hospital, Srinagar within the College campus, here. 

A team of doctors from Government Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar and the Government College of Education officials were present during the camp. The NCC cadets, students and staff of the college took part in the day-long blood donation camp. 

More than 36 students and staff members from the college generously donated blood during the camp, showcasing acts of kindness and solidarity. Dr. Ab. Rashid Sheikh, Prof. Mohd Yasin Pir, Prof. Showkeen Bilal Gul, Shabir Ahmad Para, Asif  Shah, Riyaz Ahmad  were among the staff members who donated the blood. 

On the occasion, Prof (Dr) Seema Naz, Principal of the college said that blood donation is a noble cause through which precious lives can be saved as it does not cause any weakness but has many health benefits. 

Dr.  Seema thanked all the donors and participants for their overwhelming participation and further said that organising such camps in the College is giving an opportunity to every student and staff of the College to participate in the noble cause, and also emphasized more such camps be organized in the College. 

All the staff members were seen taking greater initiatives both as volunteers and donors.

Prof. Seema Naz and other faculty members of the college were present on the occasion to supervise all the activities of the blood donation camp. 

Prof. Nahida, Arshad Suleha, Daljeet Kour, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Wagi, Prof. Ab. Rashid, Nighat Jeelani, Ms. Snobar Jan  and other staff members of the college were present on the occasion to supervise all the activities of the blood donation camp.


 

Bharat Vikas Parishad Shivshakti Branch Celebrates 62nd Foundation Day with Grandeur

Jammu, Greater Kailash — The Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Shivshakti Branch of Greater Kailash, celebrated its 62nd Foundation Day with a grand event at Mintleaf near Chajal Banquet Hall. The program, marked by enthusiasm and a sense of community, began with a warm welcome to all attendees.

The stage secretary, Smt. Pratibha Dutta, invited key figures, including Sh. Devraj Sharma, National Chairman for Environment, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, President of BVP JK Prant, and Sh. Ashok Gupta, National Member Sampark, along with other office bearers and members of the Mahila Wing, to kindle the ceremonial lamp and chant Vandana. The BVP song "Desh Hame Deta Hai Sab Kuch" was melodiously sung by the Mahila Wing members, setting a patriotic tone for the evening.

The event featured insightful speeches from prominent members:

  • Sh. Subash Ditta, Sh. Anchal Shramaji Sampark Parmukh, Sh. Rvinder Sharma, Vice President, and Sh. Lalit Verma, Treasurer: They elaborated on the five guiding principles of BVP—Seva, Sanskar, Sahyog, Sampark, and Foundation Day celebrations.
  • Rakesh Sharma, President of the Greater Kailash Branch: He provided a detailed account of the branch's activities, the history of BVP, and the life and contributions of Sh. Suraj Parkash Gupta, the founder member of BVP.
  • State President Sh. Bharat Bhushan Sharma: He emphasized the importance of BVP's activities in the J&K state and urged everyone to join in serving society.
  • Sh. Dev Raj Sharma, National Chairman for Environment: He spoke at length about the 62-year journey of BVP since its inception in 1963, paying homage to Sh. Suraj Parkash Gupta's devotion.

In a heartfelt segment, 7-8 of the most dedicated members of the Greater Kailash Branch were honored by national, regional, and state office bearers. These members received gifts as tokens of love and respect for their unwavering dedication to the organization.

Adding a cultural touch, the Mahila Wing performed another song, delighting the audience and showcasing their talent.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Shashi Bala, Sanskar Parmukh, followed by the national anthem, leaving attendees with a sense of pride and commitment to the cause.

This grand celebration not only marked the 62nd Foundation Day of Bharat Vikas Parishad but also reinforced the organization's dedication to community service and national development.
