 JAMMU, JULY 11: On the occasion of World Population Day 2024, the Directorate of Family Welfare J&K, under the overall supervision of Director Dr. Tajamul Hussain Khan, organized an awareness rally from Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event aimed to highlight the importance of family planning and sustainable population growth.

The rally was flagged off by Dr. Hamid Zargar, Medical Superintendent Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, in the presence of Dr. Shahid Hussain, State Immunization Officer J&K. The rally traversed various areas of Gandhi Nagar and key locations of the city.

Participants commenced with slogans emphasizing the need for informed decision-making regarding family size and reproductive health. Students carried placards and banners advocating for accessible healthcare services and education on reproductive rights.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hamid Zargar stressed the significance of empowering communities with knowledge on contraception and maternal health. He highlighted the hospital's initiatives in providing counseling and support to expectant mothers and families.

Participants pledged to continue advocating for policies that prioritize reproductive health and ensure every individual's right to make informed choices regarding their families.

The event at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar on World Population Day 2024 stands as a testament to the proactive role of youth in fostering dialogue and action towards a balanced and equitable society.

Among those present during the launch were Anoop Luthra, DD (E&S), Dr. Arti Nayar, Deputy CMO Jammu, Dr. Rashmi Sharma, DIO Jammu, Rakesh Sharma, SMEMO J&K, Dr. Isha, SPO eVIN UNDP, Parshotam Kumar, SCCO J&K, Vijay Rekha, Tutor at AMT School Gandhi Nagar, and Naveen Sharma, JHI, along with other officials.

Prizes were also awarded to students who made placards and posters on the World Population Day theme.

 


GANDHI NAGAR: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) paid its homage to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary on October 2, 2023. CA.Aniket S. Talati, President-ICAI, CA.Ranjeet K. Agarwal, VP-ICAI & CCMs-ICAI visited Dandi Kutir in Gandhinagar and paid their solemn respects.

Speaking on the occasion, CA.Talati said that the ideals of Gandhiji and Shastriji are still relevant and are a source of inspiration for all. He said that their commitment to truth, non-violence, and simplicity is something that all chartered accountants should strive to emulate.

CA.Agarwal added that Gandhiji and Shastriji were also great nation-builders. He said that their vision for a strong and prosperous India is still relevant today. He called upon all chartered accountants to work for the betterment of the country and to contribute to its economic growth.

The ICAI also organized a number of other events to commemorate the birth anniversary of Gandhiji and Shastriji. These events included seminars, workshops, and essay writing competitions.

The ICAI's homage to Gandhiji and Shastriji is a reminder of the importance of their ideals in today's world. Chartered accountants are well-placed to uphold these ideals and to contribute to the building of a better India. (agencies)
