Jammu 6 September 2023: On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Shobha Yatra was taken out in Jammu today. The yatra  passed through different parts of the old city and thousands of people took part in it.

Idols of various forms of Lord Krishna were included in the shobha yartra. Besides this, devotees sang hymns and devotional songs dedicated to Lord Krishna. 

This Shobha Yatra was organized by the Dharamarth Trust Jammu & Kashmir. The purpose of this yatra is to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna and increase love and devotion towards him among the people.

People who participated in the yatra said that they felt very happy to participate. He said that to take part in this yatra gave him an opportunity to express his love and devotion towards Lord Krishna.

Shobha yatra were also taken out in other parts of the city. Thousands of people took part in these yatras as well.


 SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 06: The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, has greeted the people on the eve of Janmashtami.

In his message, the Lt Governor said: “On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, I convey greetings and good wishes to all. Lord Krishna symbolizes devotion, discipline, godliness, rootedness, sthita-pragya, acceptance and Niyat Karma- prescribed duties. On this sacred festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, we must rededicate ourselves to his eternal teachings and build a society full of love, peace, brotherhood and compassion.

May the festival inspire us towards the goal of Viksit Jammu Kashmir and herald peace and prosperity for all”.
