GHAZIPUR, DECEMBER 25: The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, attended a function organized on Janm-Jayanti of Mahamana Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya and former PM Sh Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the Chief Guest in Ghazipur today to Tribute to National Builders.
In his address, the Lt Governor said, Mahamana was one of the main architects of modern education and industrial development while Atal Bihari Vajpayee with his policies and public service laid foundation of good governance in the country.

VARANASI, DECEMBER 24: Lt Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed the commemorative event at Jagatpur, Varanasi, today. He paid tributes to Babu Shivnath Singh Ji, freedom fighter, social reformer, well-known educationist and founder of Jagatpur Post Graduate College.
Addressing the gathering, the Lt Governor said Babu Shivnath Singh Ji played a historic role in Champaran Satyagraha.
Babu Shivnath Singh Ji promoted the idea of universal access to education and established a senior secondary school in 1945 to bring the quality education within the reach of all sections of society, he said.
The Lt Governor said, our forefathers like Babu Shivnath Singh were committed to the promotion and all-round development of the nation and the institutions founded by them are actively engaged in this task.
The sacrifice of our freedom fighters and their vision continues to be a great source of strength for the nation. The youth must follow their ideals and values to put the country on the path of Viksit Bharat,” the Lt Governor said.
Terming education and knowledge as a prerequisite for complete socio-economic equality, the Lt Governor said education is the only tool to transform a society.
Under the guidance of Hon’ble PM Sh Narendra Modi Ji, India is making impressive strides in new areas of knowledge connectivity. The entire nation is today working with one objective to make India self-reliant and a developed country by 2047, the Lt Governor said.
The Lt Governor shared the transformational journey in School and Higher Education in Jammu Kashmir. He also highlighted the College on Wheels initiative launched recently to provide the students an opportunity to learn beyond the walls of classrooms.
In his address, the Lt Governor also gave his suggestions on incorporating students feedback in the education system, organizing innovation competitions and to focus on inter-disciplinary education.
On the occasion, the Lt Governor also inaugurated the BBA and BFA blocks of the Jagatpur PG College. A publication, ‘Smruti Granth’ was also released.

In a tweet, the Lt Governor said: “Pained beyond words on the dastardly terrorist attack on retired police officer, Shri Mohammad Shafi Mir while he was giving a call for prayer in the mosque. Cowards responsible for this barbaric act will not be spared. My condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief”.

KOLKATA, DECEMBER 22: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed the Special Session on ‘Scope of Industry in Jammu Kashmir’, organized by the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce (CCC) at Kolkata, today.
In his address, the Lt Governor highlighted the rapid and unprecedented transformation in Jammu Kashmir, opportunities in various sectors, appropriate policies for investors, economic growth and employment generation in the Union Territory.

He also laid the foundation stone for 50-bedded Ayush integrated hospital at Ghagwal. The Hospital will provide Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathic healthcare facilities to the people.
Addressing a public gathering, the Lt Governor said the enthusiasm of all sections of society towards Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is also a symbol of Aspirational Jammu Kashmir which has complete faith in responsiveness of the government to mitigate all the challenges.

On the occasion, J&K SICOP and Apollo Hospital exchanged land deed for setting up of Apollo Hospital in the region.
The Lt Governor welcomed the industry leaders, policymakers and stakeholders from hospitality, wellness & food processing sectors to explore investment opportunities and foster collaboration during the two-day conclave, organized by J&K Trade Promotion Ogranization.
He said the Exchange of land deed with Apollo Hospital today will pave the way for one of the biggest players in health sector to formally start the ground work in the Union Territory. It will boost healthcare system and enhance opportunities for employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship, he added.
The Lt Governor highlighted the key initiatives of the administration to facilitate industrial growth and transform J&K into fastest growing and most preferred investment destination.
“Jammu Kashmir is on a mission to accelerate all-round development. “Tourism sector has been provided industry status to eliminate investment barriers, ensure incentives and facilitate allied business activities. I am confident Jammu Kashmir is poised to emerge as India’s major tourist destination,” the Lt Governor said.
He said the tourism trend indicates that growth in medical tourism and wellness industry will lead to employment generation, high productivity for the local economy and overall prosperity for the sector.

“It is reaffirmation of our promise to provide best possible care to brave combatants who serve on the frontlines with the motto of ‘Seva Parmo Dharm’ and risking their lives for our safety and security,” the Lt Governor said.
