Jamnagar, Gujarat — March 4, 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara, the world’s largest animal rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centre, located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Spanning approximately 3,500 acres, Vantara aims to provide a safe haven for rescued, endangered, and threatened animals from across the globe.

Key Highlights

During the inauguration, PM Modi toured the facility and interacted closely with various animal inhabitants. He fed Asiatic Lion cubs, a White Lion cub, a Clouded Leopard cub, and a Caracal cub—each representing a significant success in the centre’s conservation efforts. The Caracal, a species once widespread in India, is now part of a dedicated breeding program at Vantara to aid its reintroduction into the wild.

The facility also houses the Advanced Multi-Specialty Wildlife Hospital, equipped with MRI, CT scans, ICUs, and a Neonatal ICU. PM Modi observed an Asiatic Lion undergoing an MRI scan and visited the operation theatre, where a rescued Leopard was undergoing surgery after a roadside accident.

The Hydrotherapy Pool, designed to help elephants recover from arthritis and mobility issues, is among the standout features of the centre. Additionally, Vantara's world-class Elephant Hospital provides comprehensive medical care to rescued elephants.

History and Background

The idea of Vantara was conceived as part of a larger vision to protect wildlife and restore ecological balance. Developed by Reliance Industries Limited under the Greenbelt Project, the initiative began in 2006 with a small-scale animal rescue and rehabilitation effort. Over the years, the project expanded to become a full-fledged conservation centre.

Vantara's afforestation drive has seen over 25 million trees planted across the area, creating a lush, natural habitat for the animals. The centre is home to more than 1.5 lakh rescued animals, including some of the world's rarest species like the two-headed snake, two-headed turtle, Tapirs, Seals, Giant Otters, and Bongo antelopes.

With a team of international veterinarians and wildlife experts, Vantara has set new standards in animal rescue and rehabilitation. The facility collaborates with global wildlife organisations and participates in various species reintroduction programs.

A video went viral recently showing Parshwan questioning Jain monks about their practice of not wearing clothes. NEW DELHI: Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has shared important information about the voting results coming on the election results day i.e. June 4, 2024. He has prepared a detailed chart which gives necessary information for all political parties and counting agents. This chart has been prepared with the aim of maintaining transparency of the election process and preventing any kind of irregularities.

The first mention in this chart is Control Unit (CU) number, Ballot Unit (BU) number and VVPAT (Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trail) ID. These units are the various components of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), through which the voting process is carried out. In the third column, the date of June 4, 2024 and the time of opening of the machine is recorded. This time is determined by the Election Commission and it is mandatory to follow it.

If any difference is found in this set time, it may indicate that the machine has already been opened somewhere. This can be a serious issue and should be investigated immediately. Similarly, the serial number of the CU (Control Unit) is also written in the chart, which is required to be matched during the counting process. This serial number is important to confirm the authenticity and security of the machine.

The purpose of this chart by Kapil Sibal is to ensure that the election results are fair and transparent. By following this, any kind of irregularity in the election process can be prevented and all political parties will be confident that their votes have been counted correctly.

PUNE, MAHARASHTRA: Two young software engineers, Anis Awadhiya (24) and Ashwini Koshta (24), lost their lives tragically early Sunday morning in a Pune accident involving a Porsche car and reckless driving.

The incident occurred around 2:30 am in Kalyani Nagar, a popular nightlife area. According to reports, the victims, who were on a motorcycle, were struck from behind by a Porsche Taycan driven by a 17-year-old boy. The impact of the collision caused the car to lose control, crashing into another vehicle and a parked two-wheeler before coming to a halt.

Awadhiya and Koshta, both computer science graduates, were declared dead at the scene. Eyewitness accounts suggest the Porsche was traveling at a dangerously high speed. CCTV footage obtained by local media outlets shows the car speeding down the road moments before the accident.

The young driver, reportedly the son of a prominent builder in Pune, has been arrested. He is facing charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. Investigations are underway to determine if the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Adding another layer to the tragedy, reports indicate the ₹ 2.5 crore Porsche had been unregistered for months due to a pending fee of just ₹1,758.

As per Reports, Father of the 17-year-old minor boy, who ran over his luxury Porsche in Pune over two people who died, was arrested. Four executives of restaurants have also been arrested for serving liquor to the boy.

The deaths of Awadhiya and Koshta have cast a shadow over Pune’s tech community. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the devastating consequences it can have.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal released from Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Speaking to reporters upon his release, Kejriwal emphasized the historical resilience of India against dictatorship and called for unity in the face of current challenges.

BHOPAL: Bhupendra Jogi, a prominent social media influencer renowned for his viral reels, became the victim of a brutal attack by unidentified assailants on Tuesday evening. Jogi, widely recognized for his humorous content, particularly a reel parodying YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, was targeted while returning home from his shop.

The incident transpired in the New Market area around 9 PM, where two masked assailants ambushed Jogi, wielding knives. The attack left him with severe injuries, necessitating 37 stitches. Seeking justice, Jogi took to Instagram to appeal to the public for assistance in identifying his attackers.

In an Instagram story, Jogi recounted the harrowing ordeal, stating, “I am Bhupendra Jogi. Yesterday, at 9:30 PM, while returning home from my shop, some people attacked me with a knife… After attacking, they ran away easily, and till now, no one has been able to trace them. Please, all of you, are requested to help me in finding these people and getting justice.”

The Arera Hills Police Station in Bhopal promptly responded to the incident, registering a case under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to attempted murder. NEW DELHI: Political tension is high nationwide during the Lok Sabha elections. In addition to opposition leaders’ statements, there is also a poster battle taking place. Recently, a poster featuring Yasin Malik and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was displayed in Delhi’s Mandi House area, urging support for the Congress party and Yasin Malik’s release.

However, the Delhi Police promptly removed the poster upon receiving the information. The poster depicted Manmohan Singh alongside Yasin Malik, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief serving a life sentence in a terrorism funding case. It advocated voting for Congress on May 25 but did not disclose the individuals responsible for putting it up.

Following the emergence of the poster, the BJP criticized the Congress party. Amit Malviya, the BJP IT Cell chief, posted on social media about the posters supporting Congress appearing throughout Delhi. It is important to note that Yasin Malik is currently serving a life sentence in a terrorism funding case, and his organization has been outlawed.
