BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 05: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandit Tuesday presided over Teachers’ Day celebration function held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Bandipora, honoring the dedicated educators who shape the future of youth.

While speaking about the contribution of teachers, the ADC underlined their pivotal role in nurturing young minds and guiding them towards a brighter future.

During the programme, different activities were held including cultural performances, speeches and the presentation of tokens of appreciation to the hardworking teachers.

The ADC expressed his admiration for the tireless dedication of teachers and encouraged them to continue their noble mission of imparting knowledge and values to the next generation.

 


SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 05: Amar Singh College Srinagar today observed Teachers’ Day to mark the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice-President, and second President of independent India.

Dr. Radhakrishnan has written extensively on Indian philosophy, and ethics, more specifically on Advaita Vedanta, Universalism and communal harmony.

The event began with a warm welcome address by Prof Heena Amin, Convenor, Cultural Committee, Amar Singh College who briefly flagged off the event, followed by an enlightening inaugural address presented by the principal of the college Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir.

The principal threw light on the role played by teachers in nation-building and emphasised the need for obedience and respect towards teachers to succeed in life. He also distributed the flowers among teachers as a symbol of love, respect, and an acknowledgement of their good work.

The faculty appreciated this compassionate gesture coming from the head of the institution.

The event was hosted by the students of the college who treated their teachers to a gala event and showcased their talent in various cultural programmes. The students presented various scintillating cultural programmes, poetry, song and dance and delivered thoughtful speeches, and a short skit relevant to the theme of Teachers Day.

Audiences present on the occasion, both students as well as teachers, expressed their deep appreciation for the various programmes presented at the event.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mehlika student of the 6th semester who thanked the principal of Amar Singh College, Convenor Cultural Committee, faculty and the students of Amar Singh College for making this programme a huge success.

The programme was moderated by Arshi Yaqoob, a student in the 9th semester of IG English and Arif student from the B.A 4th semester. 

Prof. Ovais, Head Department of Persian, acted as rapporteur for the event.


 JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 05: To commemorate the celebrations of Teachers Day and International Day of Charity, DLSA Jammu in collaboration with Global Peace Organization organized an awareness cum felicitation function at Bal Niketan Ved Mandir, Amphalla here.

Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Tashi highlighted the importance of Teacher’s day and recalled the self-less services rendered by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a Philosopher, Scholar, Vice Chancellor of different Universities, first Vice president and Second President of Independent India. Justice Tashi impressed upon the students to follow the path shown by their teachers in order to prosper in life.

Giving details about the celebration of International Day of Charity, Justice Tashi said that to acknowledge the services rendered by one of the greatest philanthropist of the modern world namely Mother Teresa, the United Nation General Assembly passed a resolution in the year 2012 to celebrate 5th September every year as International Day of Charity and since then this day is observed in the whole world as such.

Justice Tashi remarked that the best way for a teacher to do charity is by imparting education and knowledge those children who are unable to get education, because of poor economic conditions. While congratulating the teachers of the Ved Mandir on being awarded Commendation certificates in recognition of their services, he urged them to work tirelessly to ensure that the children living in the said home are not left behind in this world, where competition is becoming tough day by day. He also hoped that the management and the staff of the Ved Mandir shall continue its great work which this institution is doing for more than a century.

Principal District & Session Judge (Chairman, DLSA Jammu), Sanjay Parihar, in his welcome address gave a brief account of the purpose of organizing such an event at Bal Niketan to celebrate Teachers Day and International Day of Charity.

During the programme, Commendation Certificates were distributed among the teaching and non-teaching faculty of the Ved Mandir in recognition of the contributions made by them towards the lives of inmates of the said home. Justice Tashi also distributed appreciation certificates and gifts amongst the meritorious children.

The inmates on the occasion also performed Ved Vandana.

Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, Amit Kumar Gupta; Secretary DLSA Jammu, Smriti Sharma; Shafiq Ahmad, President Global Peace Organization alongwith other office bearers, Panel Lawyers, members of Child Welfare Committee Jammu and Para Legal Volunteers were also present on the occasion.
